When renting an ADA wheelchair ramp, there are specific designs and measurement standards required by the ADA:
- Slope Ratio: The maximum slope for a ramp is 1:12, meaning every inch of rise requires at least 12 inches of ramp length.
- Landing Platforms: Ramps must have level landings at the top and bottom for smooth transitions and wheelchair maneuverability.
- Width: The minimum clear width of an ADA ramp must be 36 inches.
- Edge Protection: Ramps require side rails or curbs to prevent wheels from slipping off.
